A great afternoon at Spring Hill Library with the the public gathering to sign the petition against the closure of not only Spring Hill Library but also the other four Community Libraries which Birmingham City Council intend on closing.
One thing I noticed as soon as the shoppers, heard it was the local Library attached to the Tesco Store they immediately signed the petition.
As many know the Library serves Brookfield and Ladywood. Should this close, then the question is what is the community facility in Brookfield, yet alone one less for the people of Ladywood. No-one needs to be reminded that this is considered to be one of the most deprived areas of the Country and yet again it is being targeted with closures.
The voices of the people need to be heard, Ann and Mark are doing a great job with the help of many others spearheading this campaign.
Mark is there tomorrow between 12 Noon and 2.00pm please ensure that you sign the petition to fight against the closure of such an important Community facility.
Furthermore, please show your additional support by attending Thursday's meeting at the Library at 5.30pm.
Working together we can make it happen.
