It was a well attended and at times fiery meeting at Spring Hill Library. There is plenty of growing support to save Spring Hill Library.
Councillor Chaman Lal attended and blamed the Government for the Cuts, however, it was pointed out that the Government did not tell the Council to close Spring Hill Library.
One resident asked the Councillor that should the Library close would he resign, or would he take part in a sit in?
It was pointed out that the Library is for the future of our children at a time of lessening Community Facilities and under achievement, this is yet again another blow in an area where there are sever socio-economic factors at play.
Many were angry at the lack of consultation, especially taking into consideration that this ends on 28th February, surely this has to be done in a better way, that it is currently.
Mark and Ann are doing a great job running the campaign and attendances at the Public meetings are growing with an ever increasing petition with over 1000 signatures to date, with another drive on Saturday 2pm - 5pm and Sunday 12 Noon - 2pm, inside Tesco's.
Your support is needed we need to our Council to listen to us the people.
