The next monthly Prostate Cancer Awareness Session takes place on Friday 26th June 2015 at The Sports Hub Holford Drive Perry Barr Birmingham B42 2TU. The session commences at 7.00pm sharp.
Prostate Cancer is a very serious issue that affect men to the point where it is now in the second place of Cancers behind lung cancer.
1:8 Men are affected by Prostate Cancer generally, however, it affects men of African & Caribbean Origin more than anyone else, which a very serious ratio of 1:4.
The other serious issue is that generally men may die with prostate cancer, however, African & Caribbean Men will die from Prostate Cancer.
Hence the importance of these monthly awareness session in order to ensure that men see the GP in order to get checked at 40 especially where there may be a history of Prostate Cancer.
We are aware of the issues many have in obtaining as test from their GP and also the personal issues with the types of tests available.
We are pleased that the Speaker at our next session which is a free community event is John Parkin Consultant Oncologist based at City & Sandwell NHS Trust.
He will do a short presentation and answer your questions during and following the formal presentation.
