Following 12 monthly Prayers Walk for Peace in various areas of Birmingham reaching out to communities on the Weapons Agenda with a simple message “No to Guns & Knives, Yes to Life”, the final walk for 2016 takes place on Saturday 3rd December 2016 in Birmingham City Centre.
It will commence at 3pm from the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral Colmore Row Birmingham and will move along Colmore Row towards Birmingham Council House and then into New Street pass the Bull Ring into High Street towards Dale End and will end at Carrs Lane Church in the area where a young man was recently stabbed.
The team on the Walk will be handing out leaflets where people can go to seek help from members of the Yes2Life Interfaith Coalition and will be given wristbands. “A simple message is that all weapons should be disposed of in the Weapon Surrender Bins and stop destroying lives” said one of the Organisors Desmond Jaddoo, “ we have come together to play our part to make a difference and the City centre has its issues also, hence why we are reaching out there also”.
Prayer’s will be said at the beginning of the walk with the Dean of the Cathedral Catherine Ogle and the walk will be led by “John Bull” with a simple message of Peace at Christmas; joining the commencement of the Prayer Walk for Peace will also be The Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Carl Rice.
The public are welcomed to join in.
