At the last local elections in Newtown, which is still a part of the Aston Ward until 3rd May 2018, of the 3 polling stations in the area only 750 out of some 6000 registered voters went to the polls. Clearly this is not good and whilst those in power claim a victory, the issues forced by the local community increase and disaffection rises.
Today's message is a simple one, remaining silent maintains the current status quo (the current situation) and also you allow the minority to speak for the majority.
On the 3rd of may you need to go out and vote for change. My record speaks for itself and however, remaining at home will not change anything. If you are working on polling day you can register for a postal vote.
You have to be a part of the change that you want to see in Newtown and I wish to thank all the residents for their warm doorstep welcome and also the additional casework.(not a complaint).
