Yesterday, I was told to get lost by a resident in Newtown, whose told me that "none of the Councillors do anything in the area and it's has become a dump and people just exist. This is why I do not vote, it's nothing personal against you as I see you doing god work in the area. However, as soon as you lot become Councillors you forget us."
I am sharing this as, it I a very powerful statement from a man that in the end took my number and we are going to meet in order to deal with the issues that he is raising.
Newtown suffers from severe fly tipping already despite various signs which are just ignored. Sadly, nothing effectively has been done locally for a number of years. However, residents have noticed my efforts in order to get the rubbish shifted and at one point which is a constant dumping ground in the corner of Lennox Street and Guthrie Close it was clear yesterday.
Clearly, there needs to be a plan to keep Newtown tidy and I have one and will be discussing it with residents and seeking to implement it.
Furthermore, when I met my wife she lived in Porchester Drive Newtown at that time a clean, tidy and airy place. yesterday beds, settees and mattresses dumped again some by local residents and the smell of rotting rubbish. This is not isolated to Porchester Drive either. This begs the questions what has the 3 local Councillors been doing for all these years????
In any case this Saturday 24th March 2018 between 10am - 12 Noon a Community Clean Up has been arranged in the Burlington Street area behind the Drum meeting at 9.45am at Calvary Church if God in Christ 1 Burlington Street Aston Birmingham B56 4HB. By the way this is not a photo shoot but an actual clean up. therefore, if you want to help please do join us.
Do get in touch I an=m here for "Everyone an not the chosen few".
