During one of our Public Meetings at the end of January, the residents of Pannel Croft Village were raising concerns that since the opening of the Village 5 years ago; they have been asking for the 46 bus stop at the rear of the complex to have a shelter. Owing to the fact that when it gets rains, the elderly have difficulties and can get very wet at times.
No real progress has been made.
I referred this to the Mayor Andy Street, whose Office have ask for this to be looked into and the process is now undergoing consultation and it is hopeful that should there be sufficient demand that a shelter could be installed. This is significant progress within 5 weeks and not 5 years.
It a simple progress that you spoke, I listened and amplified your concerns and we have progress.
No matter what the result, your voices in Newtown and in this case the voices of the residents of Pannel Croft Village have be heard and their concerns have been taken seriously and are being addressed.
We will see how this develops.
I am here to serve everyone and not the chosen.
It's time for change in Newtown and together we will make it happen.
