The event was an overall success for meeting local people, listening to their issues being given more work to do, after all that’s what I am there for to help and the other issue of voter registration is now be tackled with registering people yesterday and this will now be an ongoing programme as there are several people not registered, in addition to those very reluctant be registered for various reasons, despite accepting the importance of it.
It was great to see families attending and their children having their faces painted which was complimentary and sampling the healthy natural juices that were being given out, whilst the men that attended were taking part in discussion surrounding the serious health inequality of Prostate Cancer and completing surveys.
This was an engaging event and look out for more in the future, as it has to be about the people and their needs as they are the Community and we are there to serve them and not rule them.
It is only right to inform and encourage people to attend the Ladywood Ward Committee Monday evening at Ladywood Community Centre 7.00pm to voice their concerns it is after all your meeting, especially bearing in mind the issues surrounding Spring Hill Library.
I am not going to under estimate the work needed in Ladywood to engage the people, but, I am willing work and help the local community. Change is in the hands of the people and they must be prepared to invoke it.
Our next event is Bring Out The Vote Community Concert on Saturday 22nd March 2014 at St Lukes Church Great Colmore Street Lee Bank Birmingham at 6.30pm. It is a free Family Event and all are Welcome.
There will be a Voter Registration Desk along with a presentation on Prostate Cancer Awareness.
