Take a look at this photograph and tell me where you believe it is?
Some will recognise it, but, many may well be surprised that it is Edgbaston Reservoir that is in Ladywood Ward.
This really highlights the potential that there is in Ladywood Ward with proper and well deserved attention needed, by a new broom within the ward to represent the residents, where disaffection is high, will small turnouts at election.
An existing broom as they say once it has served its time needs to be changed for a new one in order to be effective and this is what Ladywood Ward needs.
On my walkabout this week, I saw multi-storey blocks that reminded me of my days back in the Housing Department, Civic Close, once consider Birmingham Jewel in the Crown, now needing attention, Chamberlain Gardens, with some very clean blocks, but, in desperate need of improve and modernisation.
This is the start of the explaination as to why the turnout is so low as people do loose hope. Since the Mayoral Campaign, I have been very active in Birmingham helping many people with wide ranging issues and seeking to balance injustices that affects all our daily lives.
I believe that the People of Ladywood, deserve some of this Justice in order to rid it of the stigma of deprivation that has labelled it for many years, by having someone that will put them and their needs first and not any party political agenda, that only leads to the mass fueling of disaffection that the majority, please note the majority of the residents subscribe too unfortunately, which only then leads to a false sense of a strong hold.
Housing in Ladywood is a major issue as people must be comfortable where they live, which for some is not the case. I've seen various condition which I saw in the 80's and 90's, so where the the progress in Ladywood.
The only conclusion I can reach and I am sure you will also, is that it is Time for Change In Ladywood and the People First Not Party definitely applies.
You know what you need to do on Thursday 22nd May 2014.
Time for Change, Time for a New Broom to work with in Ladywood.
