I must congratulate the three Elected Councillors in Ladywood for standing by and allowing the heart to be ripped out of Ladywood Community Centre; one can argue the dentriment of the Local Community, off course the closure of Nicey's Canteen.
Visiting the Community Centre was an experience, it was totally dead. It is normally very busy and members of the local community would meet up at the canteen, which has been closed by the City.
Not only has an individual lost his livelihood, but, also the epicentre for many of the locals have gone.
It just goes to show how out of touch the Local Councillors really are with the Local Community, having bullied the person who has provided hot meal for the local community and beyond for the past 7 years.
These pictures were taken at 2.00pm today a time when the Centre would normally be bustling.
This is a major loss to the local Community and despite a petition, it would appear that yet again our arrogant and maverick City Council leadership are ignoring the needs of the people.
Time to wake up and smell the coffee, I would say, but at the moment you wont be get any at Ladywood Community Centre.
You can make a difference make sure you register to vote, ensure you get to know whose asking for your vote, not the party, but the individual in order to ascertain a connection or not. Let them earn it. Click here for further information
