Today at Birmingham Crown Court the Prosecution commence their closing argument in the case of three West Midlands Police Officer's charged with Perjury and Perverting the Course, in their evidence and statements concerning the death in custody of Kingsley Burrell.
Michael Burrows QC for the prosecution; linked the witness accounts on behalf of the prosecution to the photographic and video evidence that was presented the Jury which overwhelming confirmed that the head/face of Kingsley Burrell was covered. The main question how could everyone else had seen this with the exception of P.C.'s Adey, Fannon & Greenfield.
The first Barrister for the Defence Hugh Davis QC made the argument to justify the actions of his client P.C. Paul Adey, that he did not see it, although now with the evidence it must have been there, howbeit, citing that it was a traumatic day.
Tomorrow the other 2 defence Barristers will give their speeches to the Jury and the Judge will sum up on Monday morning and it will then be up to the Jury to decide.
The case continues.............
