Justice for Kingsley Burrell Campaign
Press release – For Immediate release
Rally Organised for this Friday 6th October at 4pm in response to the “NOT GUILTY” Verdict
Following todays outrageous “Not Guilty” verdict at Birmingham Crown Court in which three West Midlands Police Officer’s were acquitted of charges of Perjury and Perverting the Course of Justice.
The Kingsley Burrell Campaign for Justice and his Family have arranged a
Public Rally
Friday 6th October 2017
outside Waterstone’s Bookstore
High Street
Birmingham
at 4pm.
We are calling on the public to attend and show solidarity in our continual quest for justice and thruth of why Kingsley is no longer with his family and friends.
Below is a press statement that was read outside Birmingham crown Court earlier today:
Justice 4 Kingsley Burrell Press Statement (Not - Guilty)
“Our Campaign has always been about the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth” of what happened to Kingsley Burrell on 30th March 2011.
It is with regret that yet again that refuge has been successfully sought by these three West Midlands Police Officer’s through their uniform, hence fuelling the belief of a two tier
“them and us” Justice System where they feel immune form the law of the land.
It is clear that Kingsley had a cover on his head area of his body, which was witnessed by over 20 people and also documented on video and photographs and this verdict on “not guilty” is totally confusing, as we cannot help but to arrive at the perception that if you are in a uniform you are licensed to do want you want without any level of accountability.
Yet again we have had to sit through a trial and listen to them dehumanise Kingsley, a son, a father, a brother, a nephew, a cousin an uncle and a friend, which is totally disrespectful and unacceptable.
Our quest for Justice will continue as we still want to know why Kingsley is no longer with us and why those involve appear reluctant to tell the truth.
Let this be a clear message to all that we will not rest until the truth is made available to all and also a clear message to the Chief Constable and West Midlands Police & crime Commissioner to take stock of this actions of these Police Officer’s, who appear to be above the law and the people that they are there to protect and serve.
We now demand that evidence given in this trial yet again be reviewed.
Furthermore, the damming narrative verdict of Neglect against West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service, Solihull & Birmingham Mental health Trust and the NHS (Queen Elizabeth Hospital) is yet to be acted upon.
We now request that the Home Secretary now place our 2015 request for a public enquiry into these systemic failings; be placed back on the agenda as promised as these proceedings have now been concluded.
Let it be clear that we will not rest until the continual Injustice suffered by Kingsley Burrell which has extended to his family over these past 6 years are addressed.
Our campaign Continues…………….
