Last Week I attended various jobs event s including a Jobs Fair organised by Waseem Zaffar at Handsworth College.
I also attended an Open Evening hosted by Tesco who are planning on opening a Superstore and building a Hotel and Community Complex in Bristol Street Birmingham on the Monaco House Site.
The importance of this is that they intend to create some 400 hundred jobs and have assured me that they will be seeking to employ locally as mush as reasonably possible. Whilst I was there I saw several local people leaving their details expressing their interest in work.
This is to go to City planners within the next few weeks and is absolutely important to the local community as it is one of the most depressed areas of Birmingham and indeed the Country, so this can only be a local boost for the Communities.
I suggest we all keep a close eye on these developments in our City to ensure local jobs for local people in order to boost our own local economy.
