Yesterday quite fittingly a memorial bench was unveiled for in Handsworth Park by The Pagoda, In memory of Community Champion Pauline Hurd.

Pauline fought tirelessly, for social justice, equality and the inspiration of young people. Pauline had the Community at heart and was a major player for change, representation and progress.

It was fitting that members of the community turned out to honour Pauline and the Bench is within the Community in which Pauline focussed many of her efforts.

Although she lost her fight against cancer, she did not loose the fight of leaving a legacy that we as a community can build upon.

Rest in peace my Sister & Community Princess. Gone but never forgotten.

Lovely words, sentiments so true. Pauline was a true community champion who truly was inclusive. She fraught to give the voice less a voice. My dear friend Rest In Peace!
