In preparation for 2014 supermarkets had surges in shopping, with extended queues getting that last minute shopping to see in the New Year, various parties.
Now 2014 has arrived the day new being the 1st of 2014 is almost at an end and what has changed?
Did you make a new year’s resolution? Do you even believe in them?
This could be the dawn of a new era in your life, where you do realise your dreams and aspirations.
It could be your GCSE’s, A-Levels, Degree, PHD, Job, Promotion, and Justice, whatever is your hearts desire.
The situation is a simple one it is time to set your goals. You may argue that one can make fresh goals at anytime, however, the change of the year is always seen as a benchmark, in order to track your progress, one may say.
It is a time in my opinion for you to set or reaffirm your aims and objectives both individually, for the family and indeed for the community.
Once you have done this focus on what your ultimate aim, I was always told to aim high and you will make an achievement, you may not get there the first time, but, keep going and never give up.
I must confess that this is good advice as a very close friend many years ago told me ‘the race is not for the swift but those who can endureth’ and ironically enough I now have another close friend more like a sister that constantly reminds me of this.
How true a statement, when you consider; does a baby gets up and runs the 100m immediately, not even the great Usain Bolt did that.
The first time a child got up they possibly fell over, indeed many start off by creeping until they became experts of that prior to holding on whilst standing until they take those first steps and never stop. They just don’t give up of the first attempt, as their in it for the long haul.
You may say why is this significant? Well at a time of social, economic issues that we have to face, with that fighting spirit of a baby wanting to walk and not giving up until they do it, proves we all have that fighting spirit and once we believe it you can achieve your dreams, your aspirations and your goals in 2014.
Just believe in you, that you can achieve, it’s all in your hands and remember never give up.
Have a great 2014.
