Just to update, we have written to all 120 Birmingham City Councillors ahead of Tuesday's (9th June) Full Council Meeting seeking their support of our call for a Public Inquiry, in addition to writing to all 10 Birmingham MP's and the Leader of Sandwell Council in his Capacity of Chair of The West Midlands Police and Crime Panel.
To date we have had the support of two Birmingham MP's, The Leader of Sandwell Council and various responses from a small number of Birmingham Councillors so far. I would point out that this decision has implications, for the whole of Birmingham and no specific area as these services cover the whole City and beyond including the wider West Midlands.
We have also received the full support of the Birmingham Conservative Group and Councillor Robert Alden their Leader has actually supplied us with a copy of a letter of support which has been sent to Theresa May The Home Secretary. We welcome all parties supporting this as it is about a human life and importantly taking positive action in order to ensure that another family does not have to endure the Burrell's pain of the past four years.
It will be interesting to see on Tuesday if anyone raises the case of Kingsley in the Council Chamber as this case is not just for the MP's, but all of our locally elected Politicians.
Furthermore, with reference to the disciplinary action being taken against 3 of the 4 Police Officer's, their disciplinary hearing we understand will commence within the next two weeks and we will see how this develops.
One matter we have noticed this week was the commencement of the disciplinary hearing, of the Thames Valley Officer's involved in the case of Habib "Paps" Ullah, which is being held in public, following new regulations issued by the Home Office in March just prior to the General Election.
We would ask you to canvass your Local Councillor and Member of Parliament to support of request for a Public Inquiry as this could effect anyone of our families
