Desmond Jaddoo is a former Birmingham City Council Housing Officer, Local Entrepreneur with previous interests in Radio, Music, Independent Record Industry Production and Artist Management, Marketing & Promotions, Mobile Communications and Prestige Transport. He also has an extensive history of working in various communities in Birmingham.
Desmond was born in Birmingham of Jamaican Parents and was educated in Birmingham, where he still lives with his family.
In his younger days Desmond was mentored by the Late Aldermann Bert Carless a former long standing Local Labour Councillor, that was highly respected in the City.
He was a supporter of the campaign for Birmingham to have an Elected Mayor and indeed he intended to stand as a candidate, as he has a passion to reconnect the people to the system of governance, by providing strong, transparent, clear and effective leadership which represents all sectors of society.
However, following the NO vote in Birmingham, he has seen that there is a need for new faces and voices to offer representation and leadership in society, some of which is not partisan.
The Organiser of Birmingham Empowerment Forum, which aims to reconnect the community with the role of governance, through participation and consultation, working with the people to reduce disenfranchisement and have their voice heard.
A great believer in fairness in society irrespective of race, gender, sexuality, religion, wealth or age.
Desmond is also an inspirational speaker and also a highly motivated individual, promoting change in society; the representation in public life from members of all communities in British Society and he has a commitment to develop the role of young people in the role of governance.
He is available for public speaking events and campaigning, in addition to Chairing Political meetings, Public Panel Participation and Lobbying.
His main objective is to do what is right for the people that he intends to represent from the various diverse communities in Birmingham.
